While
Laurel and
Susie are eating tasty eggplant, we'll be eating homemade ice cream.
John bought a Krups ice cream maker while we were in Chicago. Making ice cream is easy when the machine does all the churning! So far, he's made a lovely, tart lemon sorbet and a jasmine tea sorbet. Tonight we'll taste pure vanilla. Tomorrow, we can try another new flavor when Noah is here for his really short (2 night) visit. Fun!
When you're up for it... I have a recipe for Guiness ice cream!
ReplyDeleteWhoa - that sounds a bit over the top! Although...did you see the North Market in Columbus that had ice cream flavors such as pink grapefruit & hibiscus and thai chili pepper?
ReplyDelete"see"? Yeah.. if by "see" you meant, "ate there three times in my 24-hour stay at Gen Con"!
ReplyDeleteBen & JErry's has a new flavor called "Black & Tan"... its bascially Guiness ice cream swirled with chocolate. Its SO good :)
The Guinness is a bit over the top, or was for me. But the honey beet ice cream at convention was amazing.
ReplyDeleteSo, um, I'll be back in a few weeks..... :)
We don't have an ice cream maker, but if we did, I think I'd inaugurate things with Alton Brown's Avocado ice cream
