Too Many Crowns

I got to hear "Crown Him with Many Crowns" five times this morning: twice in rehearsal and once during each of three Eucharists. Did anyone attend church today where that hymn was not sung?!

Well, we didn't sing it at 8:00... but then, we don't sing anything at 8:00

Hahaha...yes. There was a meditative Eucharist at this church in Cambridge that used it. I don't think it particularly worked well as chant.

Our 7:30 a.m. is a spoken service but the remaining two services enjoyed yet the same hymn.

Though it is not quite a "keep your job hymn" as 'All Glory, Laud and Honor' or 'Oh come all you faithful,' it does come close to being one on Christ the King Sunday (or Christ the Sovereign Sunday for the UCC).

Me! I stuck close to home and went to St. A's this morning with my roommates. We did not sing it. We did sing "Signs of endings all around us," which was fun, as it's hardly ever appropriate.
